On September 17-18, 2024, the 68th regular session of the IAEA General Conference was held, which was opened by Rafael Mariano Grossi, Director General of the IAEA. The conference included the “Nuclear Science for Development” Scientific Forum at the Vienna International Center (Vienna, Austria).
The only delegate from the Russian Federation, Ulyana Bliznyuk (Lomonosov Moscow State University), made a scientific report “Status and prospects of irradiation processing of agricultural and food products in Russia”.
The scientist presented the scientific results of the team, carrying out a joint RNF project between the Lomonosov Moscow State University and SFSCA RAS on the topic “Biochemical Markers in Organic Objects after Irradiation Treatment”.
The section on agriculture is carried out by the staff of the Laboratory of Grain and Potato Protection of the Plant Protection Department of SFSCA RAS Chulikova N.S., Malyuga A.A., Goloshchapov S.A., Enina N.N. and Gutina E.M. The Center scientists are engaged in the section on the study of the effect of physical parameters of radiation processing on the development and productivity of agricultural crops and pathogenesis of pathogens of fungal diseases.
