Elena Shatalova, Senior Researcher of the Laboratory of Biological Control of Phytophages and Phytopathogens, took part in the conference “Biological Plant Protection – the Basis for Stabilization of Agroecosystems” in Krasnodar from 17 to 19 September 2024.
At the section “Species diversity of entomophages and their role in plant protection” with the report “Application of bed bugs (Hemiptera) as model objects in the development of technologies for mass breeding of entomophages”.
The report showed the main developments obtained during the introduction of new species into laboratory cultures, such as Arma custos, Picromerus bidens and the representatives of the genus Nabis. The report was presented by junior researcher Alevtina Khodakova on “Predatory bugs of the family Pentatomidae as alternative hosts of Trissolcus ovipositor for breeding in laboratory conditions”. The work was supported by the Russian National Foundation grant 23-26-00073 “Search for agents of biological plant protection from the representatives of hemipterofauna (Heteroptera) of Western Siberia”.
