DESCRIPTION
Assessment of anthropogenic transformation of the water regime, flows of macrocomponents and organic matter in the swamp-river system in the taiga zone of Western Siberia
The project is aimed at solving the problem of adverse climate change prevention associated with an increase in greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere and will make it possible to estimate one of the expenditure parts of the carbon balance. As part of the project, studies of the impact of swamp drainage on the hydrological regime of rivers will be carried out for the first time for the taiga zone of Western Siberia under current natural and climatic conditions.
The project will implement a comprehensive approach that will assess changes under the influence of draining the water flow of the river, to determine the total export of macro-components and organic carbon from the territory of the dried area of the north-eastern spurs of the Vasyugan swamp, compare it with the river flow, assess the nature of changes in the concentration of macro-components and organic carbon in the seasonal section and on the water migration route in the swamp-river system, study the conditions that determine these changes, predict the removal of organic carbon under further climate change based on the simulation of water exchange of wetlands using MODELMUSE software package.
