Academician of the Russian Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Science in Agriculture, Professor, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation
Scientific activity is aimed at the development of theoretical and methodical bases, as well as technological principles of maximum realization of biological potential of forage crops and improvement of their quality parameters. Nikolay Ivanovich Kashevarov formulated the basic principles of forage crops placement in the Siberian region, substantiated, prepared and implemented in production a more effective system of forage production, providing an increase in the efficiency of the industry by 1.5-2.0 times. He justified highly effective, environmentally safe technologies, including the principles of maximum realization of biological potential of silage crops and improvement of quality parameters of raw materials. The academician established the economic effect of increasing the resistance of forage crops to growing conditions, selection and introduction of new crops.
Nikolay Ivanovich presented original schemes for the placement of polycomponent agrocenoses that ensure the formation of full-fledged green and silage conveyors. He evaluated the biological characteristics of a large set of corn hybrids of different biotypes, selected the most effective ones for specific agrolandscapes. The academician theoretically justified the allocation of ultra-early maturing group of corn hybrids as the most fully utilizing the hydrothermal potential of a particular region. The research materials were included in the industry standard "Corn. Cultivation for silage". Together with other scientists he developed a highly effective technology of cultivation of a unique soybean variety of Siberian ecotype SibNIIK 315. He conducted experiments on the main issues of cultivation technology of new forage crops - amaranth, mallow, fodder beans, etc. The research results were included in numerous zonal systems of farming, fodder production, systems of agro-industrial complex of Western Siberia.
Nikolay Ivanovich Kashevarov is the co-author of 10 varieties of forage crops and trained 10 candidates and one doctor of science.
